Despite missing all of April, Miguel Andujar is nearing his return to the New York Yankees following a torn labrum.

Help is on the way! Although they don’t look like they need help right now, the surging New York Yankees could have third baseman Miguel Andujar back sooner rather than later.

“[Trainer] Stevie Donohue came and said, ‘Andujar, three hits, no issues,’ ” Boone said on Sunday via George A. King III of the New York Post.

Boone was referencing an extended spring training game Andujar played in. He went on to give a timeline for his return to the field. According to Boone, Andujar will play for the Tampa Tarpons starting on Tuesday barring any unforeseen setbacks.

Andujar has missed the vast majority of the season with a small labrum tear in his right shoulder. The last game the 24-year-old played was March 31 against the Baltimore Orioles.

Andujar is one of 13 Yankees currently on the injured list. Not to mention, DJ LeMahieu and Gio Urshela—two of Andujar’s replacements at third—left Sunday’s game due to injury and remain day-to-day.

Despite Andujar’s absence, the Yankees are still winning at an insane clip. The Bronx Bombers have won 11 of their last 13 games and have pulled to within two games of the first-place Tampa Bay Rays in the loss column.

Of course, the Yanks are benefitting from a weak schedule, but they are taking care of business all the same.

The Yankees injury woes have been non-stop this season, but Andujar’s potential return is a definite bright spot.
