According to information from @uSTADIUM, glass was thrown at Porzingis, who is seen in the video, having a conversation with police. Porzingis pushes a woman out of the way and apparently threatens to “knock them out,” speaking to police regarding the culprit/culprits.
This incident comes just months after reports surfaced that Porzingis was accused of rape prior to his trade to the Dallas Mavericks. Reportedly, the victim also claimed that KP agreed to pay her hush-money and later reneged on the agreement.
The Knicks traded the disgruntled star prior to the trade deadline in a blockbuster deal which saw the Knicks send Courtney Lee, Tim Hardaway Jr. and Trey Burke along with Porzingis to Dallas in exchange for Dennis Smith Jr., Wes Matthews, DeAndre Jordan and two first-round draft picks.
Amidst the necessary cap space needed to sign two max free agents, the Knicks also received a package that gives them seven first-round picks over the next five years. The Knicks will find out where they will select one of those picks this coming Tuesday, during the draft lottery.
To say that Porzingis’s exit from the Knicks has been filled with controversy would be an understatement. After his trade, Porzingis made several social media posts which seemed to anger fans. As a result, public perception rapidly changed for a player who was once considered the face of the Knicks franchise.
Mavericks owner Mark Cuban swung for the fences when he traded for Porzingis. The pairing of Luka Doncic and Porzingis has the potential to make noise in the Western Conference for years. Yet, for now, Cuban has received nothing besides a public relations nightmare.
