The New York Knicks are doing their due diligence in advance of the draft with plans for an in-person visit with Cam Reddish.
The New York Knicks will have plenty of options with the third overall pick in the upcoming draft. While RJ Barrett appears to be the likely choice at No. 3, the front office still plans to do their due diligence with other prospects. According to Ian Begley of SNY, the Knicks plan to have an in-person visit with Cam Reddish.
The Duke forward’s stock fell during the college basketball season, but he’s still projected to go somewhere in the top 10. An earlier report stated that some within the Knicks front office loved Reddish’s game.
Reddish finished his freshman season averaging 13.5 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game. He projects to be an above-average shooter at the next level, but he was inconsistent from beyond the arc during his lone season at Duke. Part of the reason for Reddish’s falling stock lies in his 33.3% three-point field goal percentage.
Begley also reports that the Knicks attended Barrett’s pro day and plan to work out Jarrett Culver from Texas Tech. Culver’s stock rose during Tech’s run to the National Championship. The dynamic 6-foot-5 guard is a dominant defender who can guard multiple positions.
It’s hard to envision the Knicks taking anyone other than Barrett if they draft at No. 3, but there is always the possibility of trading down. A desperate team may be willing to attach multiple picks in exchange for the chance to draft Barrett.
