The Brooklyn Nets are gearing up to hit the jackpot in free agency and potentially sign Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving.
Free agency speculation continues to heat up and God, help us all. The Brooklyn Nets recent trade of Allen Crabbe has given them the cap flexibility to pursue two max free agents. Kyrie Irving‘s interest in Brooklyn is serious, and it’s almost a guarantee that the Nets will pursue Kevin Durant as well.
Moreover, Brooklyn appears to be a “viable option” if Durant and Irving want to team up, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
“If Durant wants to play with Kyrie Irving in free agency, then Brooklyn is absolutely more than a viable option. The Clippers are in there more for KD, individually…[Kyrie’s] focus right now, if he leaves Boston, is the Brooklyn Nets”

No one really knows exactly what is going to happen come June 30. However, according to SNY’s Ian Begley, Brooklyn is viewed around the NBA as the favorite to land Irving.
“Other teams with interest in Irving are operating as if Brooklyn is the odds-on favorite to land him at this point, per sources,” wrote Begley.
But it’s clear that the Nets aren’t interested in settling for one star this summer. Technically speaking, the Nets will need to make another minor move to clear the space needed to sign two max free agents. But it’s quite clear that general manager Sean Marks is heading in that direction.
Durant and Irving can join the strong supporting cast already established with the Nets. Brooklyn is one of the, if not the most desirable destination for free agents right now. The up-and-coming team from the 2018-19 season is poised to become a championship favorite if all goes well in July.
But it bears repeating: No one really knows what is going to happen in free agency.
