As the New York Mets reunite with Wilmer Flores this weekend, their flagship TV station offered a poignant tribute to the beloved infielder.

Wilmer Flores was famously brought to tears when he thought his New York Mets career was over. His constituents may do the same upon viewing the latest clip from SNY.

The Mets’ television home conjured up a retrospective of Flores’s time in blue and orange, set to the tune of Two Bit Floozy’s “I Believed.” New York reunites with Flores this weekend as they battle his new employers, the Arizona Diamondbacks, in a three-game set.

The video begins with Flores’ tears from 2015. During a July 2015 game against San Diego, reports circulated that Flores was set to be traded to Milwaukee. The deal fell through and would allow Flores to play the next four seasons in Queens.

SNY’s video goes on to feature the aftermath next. Two days after Flores’ near-departure, he would go on to hit a walk-off home run in the 12th inning of a tilt against the Washington Nationals. The Mets would go 37-22 for the rest of the season. They would go on to win the division and represent the National League in the 2015 World Series.

In the end, Flores reunites with Mets third base coach Gary DiSarcina and outfielder Michael Conforto. Arizona outfielder Steven Souza Jr. later joins the conversation.

Over six seasons with the Mets, Flores batted .262 with 68 home runs and 253 runs batted in. He’s batting .281 with two home runs and 14 RBIs in his Arizona debut. Flores is currently on Arizona’s injured list, nursing a foot injury. He is expected back by the end of June.
