New York City FC’s winless season fails to lack personality

While New York City FC’s season lacks victories, its personality bodes well from an overall soccer standpoint.

Five draws and one defeat—the New York City FC trend to start this season is certainly not the best. Even against Minnesota United, victory did not arrive.

Still, Domenec Torrent’s team played with the right attitude, looking for victory with great intensity. Despite the many difficulties faced by the team, City has shown great personality.

NYCFC played against Minnesota United with the burden of victory weighing heavily. The obsession to search for the three points could have a negative impact on the team. Torrent also didn’t have his attackers at their best, both Mitrita and Heber, not to mention Maxi Moralez, who was not in the best shape either.

In short, the difficulties were enormous and to these were added the clamorous mistake of Sean Johnson: an own goal that has been around the world. A sensational mistake that could totally break down Sean Johnson and the whole team. Instead, New York has had an excellent reaction. The Blues also managed to recover the initial disadvantage and all the difficulties encountered during the match.

Other NYC Teams

New York City FC proved to be a great team and pulled out their claws with an excellent performance and pulled out their claws with Taty Castellanos and Ismael Tajouri-Shradi; the latter also included in the MLS team of the week.

In the end, New York also risked winning the game and probably deserved to get out of the match against Minnesota with three points.

It did not happen; City has gained one point still important as it has been the progress of the game, always uphill to the Torrent team but able to react and to show great character and personality. These are the qualities from which New York City FC must start again, with the knowledge that at the first victory the team will finally be released.
