An interesting find on Twitter caused one of the Mets’ top stars to do some explaining.
From critiquing the Game of Thrones finale to interacting with Mr. Met, Syndergaard does a good job of keeping his followers entertained.
The biggest drawback to having this many people hanging on your every word is that nothing goes unnoticed.
Such was the case on Thursday. Syndergaard was caught liking a negative post about his manager, Mickey Callaway.

At first glance, this was a very bad look for Syndergaard, but he quickly took to Twitter to say that the like was accidental.

Luis Avilan nearing return
According to Anthony DiComo of MLB.com, lefty reliever Luis Avilan is nearing a return to the Mets bullpen.
Avilan has made three rehab appearances, throwing a total of three innings and allowing one run with three strikeouts.
The lefty has been out since early May. Prior to landing on the IL, he had a posted a 9.28 ERA and 2.06 WHIP across 10.2 innings.
Those numbers are far from great, but this bullpen needs all the help it can get right now.
Mets might be “quieter than anticipated” at trade deadline
With the trade deadline looming, the Mets are expected to be sellers, unless they can stage a remarkable turnaround in the next week. However, the Mets might not be all that active.
Since #TRADESZN is starting to bloom, my sense from those in and around the Mets organization is that they could be quieter than you might think. They pretty much have to trade Zack Wheeler. They'll try to flip Frazier, Vargas, at least for salary relief. That could be about it.

This may not be what many Mets fans are hoping for, but it is expected. With Wheeler set to be a free agent after the season, his bags are as good as packed.
Vargas has had a sneaky good season and could be a good fit with a team like the Colorado Rockies or Texas Rangers.
You know what you are getting with Frazier. He doesn’t provide a ton of consistency, but has plenty of power to appeal to an American League club.
